Our back stories
An opportunity to learn more about why we care about creating nurturing experiences for people and the path that led us here
Most of my favorite places to be are outside. Hiking, camping, gardening, floating in the ocean, anywhere with the beauty of nature. Motherhood and family are central in my life. I lost sight of me in the moments leading up to getting sober. Recovery gave me back the version of myself who could enjoy those things again.
My path of recovery offered self-discovery, safe spaces to be vulnerable, and a chance to connect with other people who relate to my experience. I've come to learn that we're all in recovery from something. Once I felt steady enough, I wanted to pass that feeling on.
I started hosting women's wellness retreats so I could share the same connection and empowerment that lifted me up. Watching another woman take a deep breath and realize she's not alone gives me purpose and joy.

Mitzi is a first-generation Mexican American and a mother to two boys who constantly remind her how much growth and healing can exist alongside the chaos of everyday life. Mitzi is the owner and founder of Soulfulness Breath.
Soulfulness Breath was born from her own personal experiences and the deep desire to create something that could support others through their own challenges. She believe each of us carries the capacity to begin our own healing. The simple act of showing up for yourself — even when it feels hard — can be the first step toward reconnecting with your own strength, resilience, and energy.
As your breathwork guide, Mitzi will offer a safe and compassionate environment where you can feel seen, validated, and supported as you reconnect with yourself.

Megan Eby Albert is the founder of Eby’s Holistic Healing Center, a Colorado-based wellness practice integrating holistic nutrition, herbalism, energy medicine, and therapeutic bodywork to support whole-person wellbeing. Her approach is rooted in the belief that healing is most powerful when it honors the whole person — body, mind, energy, spirit, and relationship with the natural world.
Her work bridges the physical and energetic body, offering support for women who are seeking not only symptom relief, but a deeper understanding of what their body is communicating. Through herbal education, nutrition, energy work, abdominal therapy, and body-centered practices, Megan helps women explore healing in a way that is grounded, intuitive, and deeply personal. As your holistic & herbal healing guide, Megan will create an experience centered around herbal medicine, energy work, spiritual connection, and embodied healing.
Her intention is to hold spaces where women can come together, learn through experience, reconnect with themselves, and remember the healing power of community. Learn more about Eby’s Holistic Healing Center and connect with her on Facebook and Instagram.

Carey has deep roots in Longmont. She spent 20 years on Sparrow Hawk Drive where she and her husband Sid raised their boys, a few cats and dogs, and fought off cancer. She has endless memories of great love. They wanted to honor thier past while lunging in to a new adventure on a ranch, so the name Sparrow Hawk Ranch seemed like the perfect fit.
Carey has spent the past five+ years converting their 40 ft x 60 ft barn into a beautiful, multi-use, event venue. Carey reflects on the incredible journey it's been so far, while looking forward to so much more to come.
Carey is thrilled to welcome us back for the third annual retreat at Sparrow Hawk Ranch.
